ISLAMABAD:

The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Monday postponed the hearing of a defamation case filed against former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, extending the proceedings until January 24.

The case involves a compensation claim of Rs1 billion filed by Sheikh Waqas Akram over alleged damage to his reputation.

The matter was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge Sohail Sheikh.

During the hearing, the defence submitted a written reply on behalf of Fawad. After receiving the response, the court fixed January 24 for the next hearing and adjourned further proceedings.
