Gunmen kill farmer in Bhatianwala

JARANWALA:

A 50-year-old farmer was shot dead by unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle in the fields of Chak 571-GB, within the jurisdiction of Bhatianwala police station, on Friday.

Police have launched a manhunt for the attackers after registering a murder case. According to police, Sarfraz alias Boota, had gone to his fields to cut fodder for his livestock when unknown assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened indiscriminate fire. He sustained bullet injuries and died on the spot.

Police reached the scene, took the body into custody, and handed it over to the family following completion of legal formalities.
