Scarlett Moffatt is the first celebrity confirmed to be taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.

The Gogglebox star, 35, revealed the news on Friday evening’s episode of Strictly: It Takes Two, where she was appearing as a guest on the show’s Friday Panel.

Scarlett will be paired with professional dancer Vito Coppola when she enters the Strictly Christmas ballroom this December.

The presenter and TV personality first rose to fame alongside her family on Gogglebox before going on to win I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016.

But she is no stranger to dancing, having already competed in the Strictly ballroom in Blackpool as she was a semi-professional dancer as a child and previously shared a sweet clip of her doing a Tango routine aged ten.

Of her upcoming festive Strictly stint, Scarlett said: ‘Strictly has always held a special place in my heart, so being part of the Christmas Special feels truly magical.

‘It’s the show that brings everyone together around the TV, and being part of that is a genuine personal and career highlight.

‘I’m sure it’ll also introduce me to a few muscles I didn’t know I had. I can’t wait to live my best life on that dancefloor.’

Scarlett, who began dancing aged six, quit dancing once she started university due to her struggle with the commute.

In 2022, she was hotly-anticipated to be in the celebrity line-up of Strictly due to her previous experience in the field.

However, Scarlett previously insisted that she wouldn’t take part in the popular show.

Speaking previously on The Wright Stuff, she explained: ‘I feel like I would get more grief for doing Strictly because I’ve danced before.

‘People would say it won’t be fair because she’s already danced.’

This year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special will see six couples battle it out under the glitterball to be crowned the Strictly Christmas Champion.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will oversee the festivities for their final time, while head judge Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke will all be on hand to dish out sleigh-loads of advice, Christmas cheer and the odd lump of coal – before the voting studio audience will decide who wins.

Fans can expect a winter wonderland full of festive magic, dazzling group dances and live music in what will be the perfect antidote to the post-Christmas dinner slump.

The next celebrity taking part in the 2025 Strictly Christmas special is set to be announced on Monday on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Scott Mills.

Having returned to dance last year for the first time in 15 years, Scarlett has since competed in several Ballroom competitions.

She shared with her Instagram fans back in 2024 that she has started competing in dance again.

Taking to Instagram, the TV personality posted a clip of herself looking incredible in a blue dress as she took part in a recent competition.

Captioning the post, she wrote: ‘This is your sign to not wait to follow your passion, just do it. Here I am size 18, had a c section a year go & haven’t danced in 15 years.

‘A month ago I made the decision to do something that made my heart fill with joy… dance!! I thought stop making excuses Scarlett.

‘Not only did I get on the wintergardens dance floor. But I made every final & came home with two 2nd places and two 3rd places, never been so nervous but so proud of myself.

‘Shoutout to @ukadance for an amazingly professional and slick competition, thank you @craigandrew_96 for partnering me & @applegarths_academy_of_dance.’
