Gabby Logan has revealed her daughter Lois has been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a long-term hormonal condition that may limit her ability to take part in high-intensity endurance challenges.
The television presenter, 52, shared the update on her The Mid-Point podcast, explaining that a specialist advised 20-year-old Lois to avoid extreme forms of exercise.
Ms Logan said she felt mixed emotions after receiving the medical guidance, admitting she was relieved her daughter may not pursue punishing endurance events in the future.
PCOS is one of the most common hormonal conditions affecting women of reproductive age, with symptoms that can include irregular periods, weight gain, acne, excessive hair growth and fertility difficulties.

Many patients also experience insulin resistance, which can increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular problems later in life.
While regular exercise is widely recommended to help manage symptoms, some specialists advise caution around sustained high-intensity training.
Moderate activities such as walking, strength training and controlled cardio are often considered more suitable for long-term health management.

She began riding as a child and qualified for the prestigious Horse of the Year Show as a teenager, later securing victories at the British Showjumping National Championships.
The Loughborough University student also took part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon alongside her mother in 2024, a physically demanding challenge Logan has previously described as intense but memorable.
Following the diagnosis, the pair are now expected to focus on less demanding fitness goals together.
Lois is the daughter of Ms Logan and former Scotland international rugby player Kenny Logan.

The couple, who married in 2001, also share son Reuben, a professional rugby player.
Despite the health setback, Lois is understood to be continuing her academic studies and involvement in equestrian sport, albeit with a more measured training approach.
Several prominent British public figures have spoken openly about living with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), helping to raise awareness of symptoms.
Among them, Lady Victoria Beckham has discussed how the condition caused irregular periods and made conceiving her children more difficult, while Florence Pugh revealed she was diagnosed with both PCOS and endometriosis in her twenties, prompting her to prioritise her health and consider egg freezing.
British model and body positivity advocate Harnaam Kaur has also shared her experience, openly embracing facial hair linked to PCOS and hirsutism, and Jools Oliver has spoken candidly about fertility struggles connected to the condition.
Actress Rebecca Atkinson has likewise described being diagnosed after concerns were raised about possible symptoms, joining a growing number of high-profile voices helping to normalise conversations around the condition.
The revelation come just weeks after mourners were moved to tears as Lois performed a heartfelt musical tribute during football legend Terry Yorath, her grandfather’s, funeral service in Leeds.
The former Wales international and Leeds United midfielder was laid to rest at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church following his death earlier this month at the age of 75.

Family members played a central role throughout the ceremony, with tributes reflecting both Mr Yorath’s footballing legacy and his life away from the game.
Sources say Lois delivered one of the most poignant moments of the service, performing a rendition of Jerusalem, a request made by Yorath before his death.
The performance came after grandchildren Paloma and Phoenix led prayers, while Reuben read a poem in honour of his grandfather.
