Ex-Premier League striker Jermaine Defoe, 42, has been barred from driving for a year after being clocked speeding at 82mph in a 70mph zone.
Defoe, who notched 20 goals in 57 England appearances, was driving a Land Rover in Wormley, Hertfordshire, last October.
In court, his barrister said the ex-Spurs player deserved credit for pleading guilty.
Defoe – who was not in court – was fined £660 plus £90 costs and a £266 victim surcharge.

Defoe was most recently seen at the Stadium of Light watching his former club beat Coventry to take a trip to Wembley, and is excited to see what the young team can do next.
“What an experience for these young players,” Defoe told Sunderland’s in-house media after the semi-final win over two legs against Coventry City.
“To get over the line, go to Wembley and do it there, it’s been a long time coming. To have that experience is something so special.”
