A person has been critically injured after an incident on the tracks at one of London’s busiest tube stations.
The emergency incident sparked travel chaos with tube passengers being “trapped for an hour”.
Shortly after 9am on Tuesday morning, emergency crews were called to the Victoria Line platforms at Euston tube station.
Paramedics treated the injured person at the scene and rushed them to hospital, describing their condition as “critical”, the British Transport Police (BTP) has said.
Commuters on the Victoria Line found themselves stuck on the tube in a tunnel for more than an hour as the service was brought to a stop.
Passengers had to be led through the driver’s cab and onto another train to reach the platform at Euston.
Euston tube station had to temporarily closed due to the incident, but it has since been re-opened.
The BPT said the person’s injury is not being treated as suspicious.
