Free agent Patrick Bamford has been training at Coventry City’s facilities, according to observations at the Championship club’s training ground.
The 32-year-old forward has been without a club since his departure from Leeds United at the beginning of the current campaign, when his contract was ended by mutual agreement.
The former Leeds striker’s appearance at the C’Ft ball Training Centre prompted immediate speculation amongst supporters about a potential move to Frank Lampard’s side.
Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath confirmed the sighting on X, posting: “Patrick Bamford seen at Coventry City training ground. The 32yo striker has been a free agent after leaving Leeds United at the start of the season.”

Bamford’s unemployment follows unsuccessful negotiations with Spanish outfit Getafe and reported interest from Sheffield United.
The striker earned his sole England cap under Gareth Southgate during 2022 World Cup qualifying, featuring for 62 minutes in a match against Andorra.
Sources indicate that Lampard has extended training privileges to Bamford as a gesture to his former Chelsea colleague, rather than as a precursor to signing him.
The Championship leaders’ manager has previously offered similar arrangements to unattached players.
Jamie Paterson trained with Coventry under comparable circumstances before eventually securing a short-term contract with the club.

However, current reports suggest Bamford’s situation differs, with no expectation of a permanent move materialising despite his presence at the training facility.
Coventry have enjoyed remarkable success this campaign, maintaining an unblemished record through their opening eleven Championship fixtures. The Sky Blues currently occupy first place in the second tier under Lampard’s guidance.

The former England midfielder has transformed the club’s fortunes since his appointment. Last term, he guided Coventry to fifth place and a play-off semi-final berth in their bid for top-flight football.
Their promotion aspirations ended when Sunderland defeated them 3-2 across two legs in the semi-final.

The Black Cats subsequently achieved Premier League status through the play-offs.
Lampard’s impact has positioned Coventry as genuine promotion contenders this season. Their flawless start represents the club’s strongest Championship campaign in recent memory, with the team yet to taste defeat in league competition.
