Elon Musk‘s space internet is down, leaving tens of thousands of users without service.
Downdetector, a site that monitors online outages, shows issues affecting SpaceX‘s Starlink around 3pm ET.
Users cited issues with their internet, while others reported total blackouts.
A live outage map shows major cities, including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix, San Francisco and Seattle, are without service.
Musk previously said that profits from Starlink are ‘being used to pay for humanity getting to Mars,’ and while it is unclear how much the company makes in a single day, a major outage may put a damper on his dreams to colonize the Red Planet.
