Eight people have been charged after a murder probe was launched into the disappearance of a man from Leicester.
In a statement on Thursday, detectives named the missing man as 60-year-old Gary Piatek, who has not been seen since April 2024.
Leicestershire Police said building machinery and digging teams were involved in a thorough search at an address in Broad Avenue in Evington, east of the city centre, as part of the inquiry into Mr Piatek’s disappearance.
In an update on Friday, the force said eight people had been charged with offences after a number of warrants were carried out at addresses in Evington on Tuesday.
Warrants were also issued to search addresses in Dorset and Birmingham.
Yosif Ibrahim, 43, of Broad Avenue, Leicester, and Omed Firuzman, 25, of Ashley Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, have both been charged with the murder of Mr Piatek and will appear in court on Friday.
Dalya Rabati, 29, of Frazer Nash Close, Isleworth, London, and Dilan Rabati, 34, of Broad Avenue, Leicester, have been charged with offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Officers have also charged Ahmed Nabla, 34, of Broad Avenue, Leicester, with offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Dalya Rabati also faces an allegation of fraud.
Diar Muhammedy, 34, of Falmouth Road, Leicester, and Mabast Khalid, 21, of Manway Close, Birmingham, have been charged with assisting an offender.
Nazem Kakamando, 50, of Gordon Road, Birmingham, has been charged with fraud by false representation and offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

A police spokesman said all eight are being held in custody to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
A 61-year-old, from Leicester, arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on police bail while inquiries continue.
A statement from police with details of the charges said: “Investigative work will continue at the house in Broad Avenue for a number of weeks, including specialist teams with specialist search equipment, in the search for Mr Piatek.
“There has been no proof of life of 60-year-old Mr Piatek since April 2024.”
