Eddie Hearn took it upon himself to solve his Eubank-imposed speech ban at the final press conference before Chris Eubank Jr’s grudge rematch with Conor Benn – by holding up signs with words on.
Hearn and Eubank Jr have clashed throughout the latter’s rivalry with Benn, with Eubank Jr talking over Hearn when he has tried to speak at previous press conferences.
Hearn, who represents Benn, has often tried to hit back by speaking over his rival, but the second generation star has not let up in terms of his refusal to let Hearn get a word in.
This time, though, the promoter was ready. Hearn turned up to the press conference with a series of signs, and executed his plan when he was invited to talk.
With the song ‘Silent Night’ playing in the background, Hearn held up black cards with white writing that read: ‘Good evening all. I know Chris gets upset when I speak. Last April we witnessed a British classic.
‘To me Conor is perfect, so let’s get ready again for his best performance yet and a classic war.’

Those in the room laughed, including Eubank Jr, who narrated in response: ‘As long as he’s not speaking, that’s fine.’
He later said: ‘This is supposed to be the best promoter in the world, and he’s up here with clipboards, smiling like an idiot because he’s too scared to speak at a press conference.’
Eubank Jr again gave his claim that Benn’s team delayed his ambulance getting to hospital after the first fight, and Hearn held up cards that read ‘bulls***’ and ‘fake news’.
Other cards included: ‘We always tell the truth’ and ‘plum.’
The sons of British boxing legends Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn are preparing to face off for the second time this Saturday, with Eubank Jr having triumphed 116-112 after 12 rounds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in April.
Just days before the highly-anticipated rematch, the Brighton boxer took to social media to announce the personal news to his fans.
Sharing a clip from the family’s reality television show The Eubanks: Like Father, Like Son on BBC, in which he told his famous father the exciting news, Eubank Jr, 36, posted on X: ‘So yes many of you guessed it. I will soon be joining the dad gang.
‘Only difference is I’ll be joining as a father of two! Twin boys!! I’m so grateful for such a blessing & I will do my absolute best to give them the happiest upbringing I possibly can… just like my old man did for me.’
