Dunkin’ Donuts customers have been left furious by the coffee chain’s ‘new’ ice policy.
An anonymous Facebook user recently shared a snap of a sheet of paper that they claimed detailed the company’s updated guidelines for pouring iced beverages.
According to the alleged document, drinks like iced lattes and signature lattes, iced matchas, iced cappuccinos, iced macchiatos, iced Americanos and shakin’ espressos should never be filled to the top of the cup, even if a customer asks for no ice or less ice.
Instead, those drinks should stop at ‘line number two’ on a Dunkin cup, the alleged instructions state.
On the other hand, iced coffees, iced teas, cold brews and lemonades are allowed to be filled to the top.
Dunkin’ refreshers, Dunkin’ energy drinks and iced tea lemonades cannot be made without ice, per the alleged document, as ‘these beverages use measurements that account for ice in the cup.’
‘When made in the cup without ice, the ingredient rations will be wrong and the beverage will not taste right,’ it reads.
‘Just came across this new policy they have. Just paid $6+ for a large cookie butter cloud latte, with less ice, to not get filled to the top because their new fill policy says they will not do it, on purpose,’ the user captioned the post.

‘Sending to everyone so that they are aware what they will be receiving.’
The Daily Mail has reached out to Dunkin for confirmation regarding the document but did not hear back. It remains unclear whether or not it is legitimate.
Many people who claimed to be Dunkin’ employees said in the comment section that it was accurate, however.
The post outraged many Facebook users, who took to the comment section to share their thoughts.
‘I ask for less ice because I want more milk and want the coffee to be less strong, especially if it contains espresso. I shouldn’t be short-filled just because of that,’ one user scathed.
‘I mean when I order a drink that’s $6 I’d like to have more than three to four sips because it has so much effing ice,’ another added.
‘They’re getting stingy,’ raged someone else, while a fourth asked, ‘What if I am in fact asking for less ice because I’d like more milk?
‘Sometimes in my shaken espresso it’s a little strong and I like the extra oatmilk.’

Others, however, defended Dunkin’ over the policy.
‘It’s wild to me that people don’t understand less ice doesn’t equal more drink… It’s to ensure your drink tastes correctly,’ one user said.
‘The drinks are all measured out to give a perfect, consistent flavor,’ read another comment.
‘Those measurements include a measurement of ice. They’re not going to change the formula because you don’t want a lot of ice in your drink.
‘If you want more espresso/top it off with coffee/more milk… tell them… but be expected to pay more for the fact that you’re using additional product.’
‘You’re still getting the same amount as you would with the ice the reason it’s not filled is because of the portions we use for the size of the drink it won’t taste right,’ one Dunkin’ employee chimed in.
‘And it’s not our job to sit there and get b***hed at because your latte is to milky.’
‘As someone who managed a Dunkin’, drinks have certain measurements to make sure your drink comes out the same every time,’ a different user commented.
‘If you take out the ice you’re still getting the exact same drink, measurements don’t change.’
