Drake’s infamous ‘curse’ has struck again after the Toronto rapper watched his beloved Blue Jays suffer an agonizing World Series defeat to the LA Dodgers.

Earlier this week Drake, who has lost a number of high-profile bets over the years, tempted fate when he followed up the Blue Jays’ Game 5 victory on Wednesday night by taunting Dodgers sensation Shohei Ohtani

The Canadian artist posted a photo of Ohtani whiffing on a pitch from Trey Yesavage, and added the brutal caption: ‘Savage already [on the way] to the dugout boss lol.’

After taking aim at Los Angeles‘ two-way phenom, Drake pulled up at the Rodgers Centre in the hope of watching his team win Game 6 on Friday night to end their 32-year wait for a championship.

Yet much to the amusement of those aware of his apparent curse, Toronto failed to get over the line in a dramatic loss to Ohtani and LA.

It didn’t take long for Blue Jays fans to turn on their fellow supporter, with one writing about Drake on X: ‘Now I see why we lost.’

Another user commented: ‘The Drake curse making a comeback’.

‘It was then that Drake secured a game 7,’ joked a third.

‘Drake needs to keep my team’s logo off his body!’ another Toronto fan stressed.

While one went as far as to say: ‘He just lost the Jays the world series’.

Despite social media reigniting talk of his curse, Drake did witness a Blue Jays victory in Game 1.

But he will be ruing his post mocking Ohtani as Toronto prepares to host an all-important Game 7 on Saturday night.

MLB’s end-of-season showpiece has not been settled by a Game 7 since 2019, when the Washington Nationals prevailed over the Houston Astros.

The last team to win a home Game 7 was the St. Louis Cardinals, who upset the Texas Rangers in 2011 during one of the greatest World Series ever played.

Since 2011, four Game 7’s have been won by road teams: the San Francisco Giants in 2014 (beating the Kansas City Royals), the Chicago Cubs in 2016 (beating the then-named Cleveland Indians), the Astros in 2017 (beating the Dodgers), and the 2019 Nationals.
