A Washington Commanders fan has reportedly been banned from Northwest Stadium after jumping onto the field during Sunday’s loss to the visiting Detroit Lions.
‘In the least surprising news of the week: This idiot has been banned from Northwest Stadium,’ read an X post from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The post included viral video from the incident, showing a man in a white Jayden Daniels replica jersey appearing to talk to Lions long snapper Hogan Hatten from a front-row seat.
The clip then cuts to the man hopping the concrete barrier and running towards the Lions bench, where he was tackled by a team of security guards.
Within moments, he was being marched out of the stadium.
It’s unclear what the man intended to accomplish by jumping onto the field. In any case, he lost his right shoe on the landing, so he was an easy target for swarming security.

Following the incident, Hatten went on social media to explain he wasn’t interacting with the Commanders fan, but another person entirely.
‘The video going around suggesting I was arguing with a Commanders fan before he rushed the field is inaccurate,’ Hatten wrote on social media.
‘I did not speak to that person at all during the game. I struck up a fun conversation with a young fan, who you can’t see sitting in the front of him in the first row, and ended up giving him a ball after the game!’
Daily Mail reached out to a Commanders spokesperson for confirmation on Wednesday evening in the US. However, the team is currently on Madrid time ahead of Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins in Spain.
