Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has received 300 hours of community service following his guilty plea for dangerous driving on the A3, marking his ninth motoring offence.

The 24-year-old French international was already serving a two-year driving disqualification for eight prior speeding violations when this latest incident occurred.

District Judge Julie Cooper warned the footballer that failure to complete the unpaid community work would result in imprisonment. She condemned his “ridiculous” conduct during sentencing.

The April incident represents a continued pattern of reckless behaviour on British roads by the former Leicester City player, who joined Chelsea for a substantial transfer fee.

Dashcam footage from April captured the centre-back manoeuvring dangerously at high velocity, swerving between vehicles and illegally using the hard shoulder.

The video evidence showed Fofana travelling well beyond legal speed limits whilst executing hazardous overtaking manoeuvres on the major Surrey thoroughfare.

His vehicle was recorded weaving through traffic in a manner that endangered other motorists, demonstrating flagrant disregard for road safety regulations.

The footage emerged whilst the defender was already prohibited from driving, compounding the severity of his actions.

This latest transgression adds to an extensive record of motoring violations that have plagued the footballer’s time in England.

Judge Julie Cooper delivered a scathing assessment of Fofana’s behaviour during sentencing proceedings.

“You obviously realise there are a lot of young people who look up to you and they would like to be like you and follow you. That’s part of the whole gig,” she stated.

The district judge warned of potentially fatal consequences, saying: “However, they will not be able to afford these expensive cars, with all their additions that keep them safe and you could have some seventeen year-old, who has just passed their test, who think they can copy you.”

“They will not be able to handle their car and do some ridiculous driving manoeuvre and they are dead,” she continued.

Judge Cooper concluded: “You need to be much more responsible about your behaviour.”

The footballer’s current two-year driving prohibition stems from eight previous speeding infractions accumulated during his time in English football.

His injury-plagued tenure at Stamford Bridge has been marred by these repeated demonstrations of irresponsible conduct away from the pitch.

Despite earning substantial wages and representing one of London’s premier clubs, Fofana has persistently flouted traffic laws.

The pattern of violations suggests a troubling disregard for legal consequences and public safety.

His position as a professional athlete at Chelsea brings heightened scrutiny and responsibility, which he has repeatedly failed to acknowledge through his actions on British roads.
