RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has started implementing foolproof arrangements for the matric first annual examinations 2026 scheduled to begin on March 27.

Under the new measures, CCTV cameras will be installed at all examination centres and candidates will undergo biometric verification for the first time to ensure transparency.

Under this system, another person will not be able to appear in the examination in place of the actual candidate. Commissioner Rawalpindi and Chairman of the Education Board Amir Khattak has issued instructions that biometric attendance of candidates at hard category examination centres in Rawalpindi division must be ensured at all costs.

He also directed that an online CCTV monitoring system should remain fully operational to continuously observe examination centres so that the examination process can be made more transparent and effective. Discipline, transparency and merit must be maintained at all costs during the examinations, he added.
