BBC’s Director General Tim Davie has been told to “resign in shame” following the publication of the broadcaster’s latest workplace review.
Following the publication of the review, the BBC has pledged to take “immediate action” to improve workplace culture after it found a minority of staff behave unacceptably without facing consequences.
While the review found no evidence of a “toxic culture” at the broadcaster, it highlighted that some powerful individuals both on and off-air were able to abuse their power.
The report concluded that even though these individuals are “small in number, their behaviour creates large ripples which negatively impact the BBC’s culture and external reputation”.
Piers Pottinger called on BBC Director General Tim Davie to ‘resign in shame’ following the broadcaster’s latest review

Discussing the review on GB News, political commentator Piers Pottinger hit out at Director General Tim Davie, declaring his governance of the company has been “appalling”.
He fumed: “It’s another example of the appalling governance and management of the BBC. And Tim Davie, in my opinion, his position is untenable.
“Davey should resign in shame, because we’ve got case after case – there’s Saville, Harris, Huw Edwards, and most recently Gregg Wallace. And they always run for cover and say, it’s an outside production company, we don’t employ them – you’re broadcasting them on your airwaves. You are responsible, Mr Davie.”
Highlighting another example “appalling governance” by Davie, Pottinger claimed that a frequent star of BBC Arab World has been airing “antisemitic views” on social media.

Pottinger explained: “On BBC Arab World, they have a reporter who they a lot, and he has been on his own social media, putting out very, very antisemitic tweets, and supporting Hamas overtly. Yet they allow him to report on the Gaza war.
“This has been raised with Davey on numerous occasions and the man is still broadcasting. He should be sacked immediately.”
Branding Davie the “worst Director General in modern times”, Pottinger urged the broadcaster to focus less on “wokery” and more on “checking their journalist’s stories”.
He told GB News: “Instead of all this wokery nonsense that the BBC insists on, including the ludicrous BBC Verify, checking their own journalists stories supposedly – which they don’t do anyway.
Pottinger told GB News that Davie is the ‘worst Director General of all time’

“I mean, Davie is probably the worst director general in modern times.”
Responding to the report, Director-General Tim Davie said: “This report represents an important moment for the BBC and the wider industry. It provides clear, practical recommendations that we are committed to implementing at pace.
“I’m grateful to everyone who took part and contributed.
“The action we are taking today is designed to change the experience of what it is to be at the BBC for everyone and to ensure the values we all sign up to when we arrive here – the values that, for most of us, are what made us want to come to the BBC in the first place – are lived and championed by the whole organisation each and every day.”
