Supercars star David Reynolds has always dared to be different – so despite his cholesterol soaring from an extreme carnivore diet, he isn’t one bit concerned about his health.
Reynolds, 40, only eats meat, and claims he has never felt better.
Be it a piece of steak for breakfast or raw liver for dinner, the former Bathurst champion acknowledges the hardcore change isn’t for everyone.
But as Reynolds pointed out, he lost 10kg in a couple of months after first trying the radical diet in 2022.
The downside was his cholesterol ‘went through the roof’.
‘It went sky-high,’ Reynolds told News Corp. ‘I was a little bit worried initially… so I got a calcium score [a test for calcium in coronary arteries], and that was zero.

Reynolds famously won the 2017 Bathurst 1000 with co-driver Luke Youlden and is one of the great characters of the sport
‘(But) I then got an ultrasound of my heart… and it was completely perfect.’
An all-meat diet is claimed to aid weight loss, fight fluctuating moods and assist with blood sugar regulation.
On occasion, Reynolds may treat himself to a small piece of dark chocolate, some natural full-fat Greek yoghurt and honey, or an apple.
He has no plans to give up his diet, as he knows he ‘loves bad food’, namely bakery items like croissants and donuts.
In 2024, Reynolds raised eyebrows after claiming he and his glamorous partner claimed they had a close encounter with a ghost at their Melbourne apartment.
He was living with former Big Brother star and Miss Universe contestant Tahan Lew-Fatt in St Kilda over a decade ago when the supernatural incident allegedly occurred.
Reynolds recalled he was swimming laps in the complex’s pool when he felt something ‘brush past’ him.
He insists he then saw kicking feet – but was the only person in the water.
One-time grid girl Lew-Fatt also claims she had her own close encounter, this time in the spa, next to the pool.
Terrified, she quickly returned to the couple’s room, firmly believing she had also seen a ghost.
