At least three people have been killed after shooting at a bar in Texas.

Authorities say 14 others were wounded after the incident in Austin.

The city’s police chief Lisa Davis said at a news conference early on Sunday that her force received reports of a “male shooting” at Buford’s, a popular beer garden in the city’s entertainment district.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man with a gun and “returned fire, killing the suspect”.

Emergency medical services chief Robert Luckritz said the three were found dead at the scene and the injured were taken to hospitals. Of those injured, three were in a critical condition.

Police have not released the identity of the gunman or made any comment on their motive.
