Amazon has launched its first Everyday Essentials sale. From toilet roll to dishwasher tablets, coffee beans to cleaning products, toothpaste to razor blades, the seven-day sale covers a dizzying range of essential items.

Browsing for these everyday items isn’t the most thrilling shopping experience. But it’s a critical one. With up to 40% off the RRP available in the limited-time Amazon sale, there are some serious bargains to be found.

Amazon has slashed prices across thousands of everyday items from categories including beauty, grocery, cleaning, health and personal care, and pet supplies, to name just a few.

“Now more than ever we know our customers are looking to save, and this is another way we’re helping them to do so,” said John Boumphrey, UK Country Manager of Amazon. “This is our first-ever Everyday Essentials Week, and customers will be able to shop thousands of deals across our most popular household items.”

The sale arrives at a time when many households are feeling the pinch from ever-increasing prices. Whether it’s coffee, eggs, or washing powder, everyday essentials have become increasingly expensive.

Amazon believes bulk-buying from its online store will now seen as a smart move for budget-conscious shoppers. Its Everyday Essentials sale — the first time the US company has specifically launched a promotion around mundane household products — will be seen in some corners as a bold new challenge to UK supermarket chains like Tesco, Sainsbury’s, LIDL, Aldi, and Morrisons.
