Forget her anthemic hit song, All About That Bass. For ever-shrinking singer Meghan Trainor, it’s All About That Face these days, her Mounjaro mug now barely recognizable.
Sheathed in a corset dress at an LA fundraising gala for the child-focused nonprofit Baby2Baby on Saturday, the effect was more Bony2Bony – Trainor’s taut contours looking more akin to an odd Paula Abdul and Paris Hilton hybrid than the fuller, fresh-faced girl that made her name.
‘I didn’t even know that was Meghan Trainor. Looks like a totally different person, not in a good way,’ one puzzled fan commented on Instagram.
‘The same woman that said, “I won’t be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll“,’ added another disappointed X user.
Indeed, 31-year-old Trainor’s rise to prominence traded heavily on her curve-embracing, body-positivity schtick immortalized in the lyric: ‘Boys like a little more booty to hold at night.’
All About That Bass, she said at the time of its 2014 release, was about ‘loving yourself, loving your body [and] loving your insecurities’ – platitudes promptly pierced by a quick-fix weight loss jab that saw her drop 60 pounds.
Now, it seems she’s changed her tune, clearly reveling in her new, shredded bod. It’s just a pity her individuality went with her cravings.
‘I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!),’ she revealed of the weight loss medication she began taking after the birth of her second son in 2023.

Of course, Trainor isn’t the only one whose weight loss is raising eyebrows.
Consider the rise and rise of lollipop-headed Ariana Grande and her otherworldly success, which cements the message and serves as a template: thin is in. To the casual observer, however, the scales have tipped too far – and it’s time for a rude awakening.
While slimness may be youthful, it has fine margins – who can forget when Sharon Osbourne went from well-preserved to deranged after a dabble with Ozempic in 2023 left her a haggard and haunted shadow of herself?
A cursory look at a growing number of emaciated A-listers offers evidence it’s not doing them any favors – in fact, it’s having the opposite effect.
I never thought I’d say this, but some of these women would look a whole lot better with a little more meat on their bones.
Also at the Baby2Baby gala was Serena Williams, 44, flanked by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, sporting a slinky black dress and a new face stretched tighter than the duchess’s smile. The woman may be leaner, but it’s made her unrecognizable from the curvy powerhouse of her tennis-playing heyday – a loss of pounds that’s added the years.
And what about noticeably lighter Christina Aguilera, who credits her weight loss to diet and exercise. Also aged 44, she is now touting the tiny waist of her early 2000s, chap-wearing glory days.
Resurrecting the ‘Dirrty’ look in scraps of leather may have delighted the fan faithful but it also sparked unsubstantiated Ozempic rumors. Now, it’s only her ever-inflated pout that is getting heavier.

You see, clinging to your 20-year-old fighting weight can play havoc with a midlife face. That’s why Aguilera appears to have had a few interventions.
While the ultra-sculpted cheekbones and foxlike eyes may look the part when airbrushed to oblivion on Instagram, in the cold light of day it all looks harsh atop her teeny tiny frame.
Ultimately, it’s this face and figure disconnect that is proving the undoing of so many, despite all the effort and expense.
It’s a balance that singer and actress Jessica Simpson, 45, also appears to be struggling to master.
Blessed with an all-American blonde bombshell beauty, the curves and natural prettiness of her peak have made way for weight loss paraded in a stream of bikini selfies topped by a seemingly overfilled face.
Trouble is thinness has always been the holy grail in the celebrity world and has never really gone out of fashion. And while being a healthier weight is preferable, it’s increasingly being taken too far.
As the famously stick-thin Coco Chanel once declared: ‘A women can never be too rich or too thin.’ I beg to differ.
