Adil Ray has returned to social media with another political tirade, this time targeting US President Donald Trump.
However, rather than solely vocalising his opposition to Mr Trump’s policies and conduct in the White House, something he has done numerous times before, Mr Ray put his religious beliefs in the firing line as well.
Adil Ray questioned the coverage of Trump and his religion on social media

Taking to social media, Mr Ray penned: “We freely hear Islamist referenced, but when bible-following Trump, with support of Christian National groups and the likes of the Proud Boys, strikes Venezuela, hires a ‘Gestapo’, threatens Greenland, Iran, Cuba, and Mexico, and funds an alleged genocide, we don’t hear about his religion?”
Mr Ray shared the statement on his Instagram Stories, meaning followers and fellow social media users were unable to reply.
However, he also published the remarks on the social media site BlueSky. One follower agreed with the presenter, writing: “Exactly. He also declared himself ‘President of Venezuela’; therefore, confirming he’s running a junta! Trump’s junta!
“Yet never heard headlines like ‘Trump’s extreme far-right Christian nationalist junta’!”
Adil Ray is a familiar face on ITV | PAHowever, not all were in agreement. One BlueSky user argued: “You can correct me if I’m wrong, and I will stand corrected, but I’m pretty sure the religion of Christianity doesn’t preach about killing non-believers…”
The presenter included the song God by John Legend as the accompanying track to his post on Instagram.
Mr Ray’s foray into political commentating is far from new, especially when it comes to criticising the likes of President Trump or opposition politicians in the UK.
For instance, in the aftermath of President Trump’s capture of Maduro in Caracas, Mr Ray wasted no time in questioning the administration’s true motivations.

GETTYHe penned in a social media post: “Analysis suggests Trump taking over Venezuela isn’t really about oil. US don’t need oil and they could do deals to rectify what they believe is owed.
“This is about reigning supreme in the Western Hemisphere. When will the UK wake up to the fact and who we appear to be supporting? Madness.”
He followed this up with a separate post: “Trump getting hands on oil ultimately allows him to sell the idea to his base.
“The oil pays for it. But ultimately, this is about showing power and might. In the same way China and Russia do and will continue to.”

ITVMr Ray has also been a vocal critic of Ice, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Earlier this month, 37-year-old American citizen Renee Nicole Good was fatally shot by Ice officer, Jonathan Ross, during an altercation in Minneapolis.
Her death has led to protests across the nation as critics of Ice allege the killing was unlawful. However, members of the Trump administration have insisted the officer acted in self-defence.
In the wake of Ms Good’s death, Mr Ray said of the current state of affairs in the US: “Making minorities the enemy, extreme nationalism, a cult leader, denying election results, normalising corruption, a secret police, attempts to control health, education and media, loyal rich rewarded, excusing and glamourising violence.
Adil Ray has called the USA a ‘fascist state’
|
PA“When do we admit that the USA is becoming a fascist state?”
He previously branded Vice President JD Vance “insane” for publicly standing by the Ice agent who pulled the trigger.
48 hours after Ms Good’s death and as conflicting reports flooded the internet, Vice President Vance posted on X: “If you want to say this woman’s death is a tragedy, that we should pray for her soul as Christians and Americans, then I agree with you.
“But the media dishonesty about this officer is an all-time moment in shameless press propaganda.

INSTAGRAM“Does this law enforcement officer have a family? Yes. Did he get seriously injured by a vehicle just six months ago? Yes. Did he have reason to fear for his life? Yes. Does he have every right to safety while he’s doing his job? Yes.
“I want our law enforcement officers to do their jobs and come home safely to their family. If you don’t like the immigration policy of the Trump administration, attack me. Leave our law enforcement alone.
“And it’s time for the press to finally tell the truth about this story.”
Mr Ray has been part of the GMB presenting team since early 2019. He also fronts the ITV quiz show, Lingo, and hosts his own weekend radio show on Smooth.
