Adam Peaty’s mother ‘outraged’ and ‘hurt’ following Gordon Ramsay’s comments on son’s wedding day

A family source told the Daily Mail: “Caroline can’t believe Gordon brought their family troubles up his speech. It is outrageous and very hurtful.”

The source added: “By him saying Tana will be a good mum to them both makes Caroline sound like a bad mum. It was a cruel dig at her.”

“Who says this wasn’t pre-planned?”

During his speech at the reception, the 59-year-old chef reportedly praised his daughter Holly’s appearance and told the 31-year-old groom he was a “lucky man”.

Ramsay then gestured towards his wife Tana, telling Adam: “Look at Tana and that’s what you have to look forward to.”

However, the television personality allegedly followed this with a pointed remark directed at his new son-in-law’s absent parents, reportedly telling Holly: “Shame you don’t have the same.”

The chef also reportedly stated that Tana would serve as a good mother figure to both newlyweds.

The family source insisted: “She has always done her best for all her children. She is a very good mum.”

The swimmer has made his allegiances clear by altering his name on social media to Adam Ramsay Peaty, mirroring Brooklyn Beckham’s decision to incorporate his wife Nicola Peltz’s surname following their 2022 nuptials.

Reports indicate that Adam has also blocked his family members from contacting him via text message.

The three-time Olympic champion uninvited his parents from the Bath Abbey ceremony, with only his sister Beth permitted to attend as a bridesmaid.

His father Mark was reportedly offered the chance to be present but was told he would need to sit at the rear of the venue, positioned behind other guests’ plus ones.

Caroline and her husband Mark spent the wedding day behind closed doors at their modest Uttoxeter home in Staffordshire, situated more than 130 miles from the celebrations.

The mother-of-four was described as being “beside herself” with grief at missing what should have been among the happiest occasions of her life.

The source added: “We may not have much as a family but we have values.”

A separate source claimed: “This was the Ramsays’ plan all along. They wanted Adam’s family gone and they have succeeded.

“You’d think that as parents, Gordon and Tana would have a bit more compassion towards Caroline, Mark and the family.”
