An actress who was in one of cinema’s most quotable moments enjoyed a relaxed stroll with her dog over the weekend.
You may remember this star for her portrayal of the snobby Beverly Hills shop keeper who turns away Julia Roberts‘ Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman, resulting in an unforgettable exchange that has been cemented into history.
Ward undergoes a makeover and massive shopping spree before returning to the store to flaunt all the money she had just spent to the stuck-up woman.
‘Big mistake. Big. Huge!’ Ward informs her.
Beyond Pretty Woman, this actress has made her mark in Hollywood with roles in Melrose Place, Spaceballs, Rock ‘n’ Roll High School, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and more.
Can you guess who this legend is?
An actress who played an iconic snobby saleswoman in Pretty Woman was spotted out in Los Angeles on Sunday
If you guessed Dey Young, you are right!
Young has continued acting ever since her days on Pretty Woman but managed to unwind on a leisurely Sunday morning alongside her four-legged friend.
The duo were spotted out going for a walk in Los Angeles, clad in a red zip-up, black, and coordinating cap.
Trekking down the sidewalk with hiking boots, Young looked relaxed and content enjoying the fresh air with her furry friend by her side.
The walk may be a rather rare moment of leisure for the otherwise busy actress.
With two projects in the works and decades of experience in front of the camera under her belt, there are no signs Young plans on slowing down anytime soon.
Her first-ever credited role is in the 1979 film inspired by The Ramones, Rock ‘n’ Roll High School with appearances in Melrose Place, Spaceballs, This Is Us, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Mentalist, The Young and the Restless, Murder, She Wrote, The X-Files, Star Trek: The Next Generation, T.J. Hooker, Frankie and Johnny, Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and more.
No doubt, however, she is best known for playing ‘Snobby Saleswoman’ in the 1990 film Pretty Woman.

Young played the shopkeeper who turned away Roberts’ character in Pretty Woman
Young’s character assumed Vivian Ward (Roberts) would be unable to pay for anything
Young played a woman who refused to sell any clothes to Roberts’ Vivian Ward before sorely regretting her decision later when the latter returns, arms laden with shopping bags.
‘I never knew that this movie would be as big as it was, or that this scene would be so iconic,’ she told Today in 2021.
‘I really think the reason is that it’s a moment a lot of people can relate to it.’
Young said director Garry Marshall urged her to hold no punches when working with Roberts – even off camera.

The busy star continues to enjoy an active acting career, years after making Hollywood history with her unforgettable scene
‘I really think the reason is that it’s a moment a lot of people can relate to it,’ she later said of the scene’s success

‘He always encouraged me to be meaner and b***hier, even on the set when I was working with Julia.’
But Young said after the film, she found herself becoming typecast.
‘That’s what happens when something becomes so iconic, they always want to pigeonhole you to that,’ Young said.
‘They say, “Oh, go get snobby saleswoman because she really knows how to do that.” So that stereotype becomes a little bit limiting in opening up casting for other possibilities.’
However, Young insists she ‘wouldn’t trade it for anything.’
