Christmas gives message of universal peace: minister

LAHORE:

A ceremony organised at Naulakha Presbyterian Church as part of 12-day Christmas celebrations by the Punjab government was attended by prominent figures from various religious backgrounds. Addressing the gathering, Punjab Minorities Affairs Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora said Christmas is a universal message of humanity, love and brotherhood.

Naulakha Presbyterian Church head Reverend Dr Majid Abel said all religions share a common message of peace, tolerance and love. He termed the resolution of a long-standing issue of pastors’ licensing an achievement for the Christian community.

Former senator Kamran Michael said the Christian community has played an equal role in Pakistan’s development and hailed the growing participation of Muslim citizens in Christmas celebrations.

Data Darbar Jamia Masjid Khateeb Maulana Ramzan Sialvi and Lahore Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Ziauddin Ansari were also among the participants.
