The Punjab government has eased Section 144 restrictions to allow a gathering of the Jamaat-e-Islami at Minar-e-Pakistan, while prohibiting any rallies or processions, forced business closures, and inflammatory speeches against constitutional institutions or religious groups.

The 24th general congregation of the party is being organised after an 11-year gap. The Punjab Home Department granted conditional permission based on recommendations from the district administration.
