Chelsea face a suspended 12-month prohibition on registering first-team players alongside a £10million penalty following alleged financial regulation violations during Roman Abramovich’s tenure as owner.

The Premier League has determined that the west London club will retain their ability to sign senior players provided no additional breaches occur over a two-year period. No points deduction has been imposed.

However, an immediate nine-month restriction on academy player registrations takes effect straight away.

This particular sanction applies solely to youth players who were previously on the books at other Premier League or English Football League academies.
