FELAÇI debuts at Paris Fashion Week, showcasing Pakistani leather craftsmanship inspired by ancient tradition

London-based brand FELAÇI made its debut at Paris Fashion Week on March 5, bringing the craft of Pakistani leatherwork to an international runway. Rooted in traditional artisan techniques, the collection features tanned cream tones and sharply cut black silhouettes that echo the sleek minimalism of the 1990s.

The brand draws inspiration from ancient traditions connected to the region that shaped its founders. Archeological evidence from Mehrgargh (circa 5500-4500 BCE) suggests some of the earliest known leather tanning practices originated there, highlighting how deeply this craft is embedded in the history of present-day Pakistani fashion.

Even the name FELAÇI reflects this heritage. It takes inspiration from Falasi, the hand-woven textiles traditionally found in the homes of Sindh and Bahawalpur.

The show also drew attention from notable figures, including Alana Hadid, who wore a custom piece and praised the brand.

“It’s only getting better as I wear it,” Hadid shared on the brand’s Instagram.

Seeing a brand like FELAÇI gain recognition on a global stage—while spotlighting the skilled artisans behind Pakistan’s high-quality materials—is a win for everyone.
