Fans condemn filming without consent during private trips as a serious invasion of privacy

Fans have come to the defence of Bilal Abbas Khan after a video of him praying, secretly filmed by a social media user, went viral.

Known for his versatility, Bilal gained fame through hit TV dramas such as Pyar Ke Sadqay, Mun Jogi, Cheekh, and Ishq-e-Murshid.

He currently stars in the drama serial Meri Zindagi Hai Tu opposite Hania Aamir, further strengthening his fan following.

Despite having around 5.8 million followers on Instagram, Bilal rarely shares details of his private life, though fans frequently post videos of his personal moments on social media.

Recently, fans spotted Bilal Abbas Khan in Madinah, reciting the Quran and visiting the Prophet’s Mosque. In April 2024, he was also seen performing Umrah, and on both occasions, fans raised objections to secret videos being taken of him in Mecca and Madinah.

This time, a video showing Bilal Abbas reciting the Quran was shared by a social media user, prompting strong reactions from fans.

Social media users said personal and spiritual moments should not be filmed without permission. Fans expressed particular displeasure that he was recorded in Madinah while engaged in worship during Ramazan.

One fan wrote: “Celebrities have their own lives too. It’s not necessary to capture every moment on camera and post it online. Please respect their privacy, especially during personal and spiritual moments”.

Another fan addressed the person who made the video: “You thought it was necessary to film them? Are you serious? He is an actor, not your property! Please understand.”

A third comment read: “Filming someone without consent during their personal trip is a very serious offense.”
