Founded back in 1993, the free, outdoor festival showcases the 16 short films vying for this year’s crown.
The event is known as a major launchpad for actors and directors, with stars such as Rebel Wilson, Sam Worthington and Joel Edgerton having previously appeared in Tropfest films.
The pair wrapped up their much-scrutinised press tour while home in Queensland for yet another viewing earlier this month.

She told Time Out: ‘I want lots of snogging [in the cinema]. I think whatever you can get away with – sorry, Cineworld.
‘There will be some of that, there will also be a lot of people having to be carried out because they’re crying so much.
‘I really love seeing movies where people have a visceral experience. I think screaming and laughing and crying and gasping, we want a connected experience.’
