Matt Weston roared with glee after claiming Team GB’s first Winter Olympics medal this year – claiming gold following a sensational skeleton run.

It has been a tough time for Team GB this year at the Winter Olympics, missing out on curling and big air medals with tears along the way.

Weston had been one of the favourites to win a medal this year and had tough competition from the Germans in reigning champion Christopher Grotheer and Axel Jungk.

But Weston registered a time of 3:43.33 after a phenomenal last run that saw him finish in 55.61 seconds.
