England fans have been banned from attending their upcoming October Nations League clash away to Croatia.
The home nation is required to serve a two-game ban for crowd trouble in 2025, which means the matches will be carried out behind closed doors.
Incidents in Croatia’s Nations League quarter-final against France resulted in heavy fines and a ban.
England’s Group A3 fixtures against Croatia, the Czech Republic and Spain were confirmed on Thursday night in Brussels.
With the Croatian Football Federation confirming the ban would stop fans from attending the first two fixtures of the European side, England fans will not be allowed to travel to watch the Three Lions game.
The match is scheduled for October 3.
The federation said: “It should be noted that due to the inappropriate behavior of some Croatian fans in the quarter-final matches of last year’s edition of the Nations League against France, Croatia will play its first away game, i.e. the one against the Czech Republic on September 26, without the presence of Croatian fans, and play its first home game without an audience, i.e. the one against England on October 3.”
This is the second time such an incident has occurred to England fans on an away trip to Croatia.

In October 2018, they were barred from travelling to a Nations League match in Rijeka due to sanctions imposed on the hosts.
However, hundreds of fans made the trip regardless, attempting to watch from a vantage point on a hill above the stadium.
England begin their Nations League campaign at home to Spain on September 26.
They then travelled to Czech Republic and Croatia for back-to-back away games on September 29 and October 3, returning home to face the Czechs again on October 6.

They then host Croatia on November 12 before completing the group stage away to Spain on November 15.
Thomas Tuchel is set to remain at the helm of the Three Lions during this period, having signed a new contract on Thursday, keeping him in the role until the end of Euro 2028.
When the German replaced Sir Gareth Southgate at the beginning of last year, many believed the appointment was made to achieve instant success, with his tenure at threat if he failed to win the upcoming tournament.
Now, however, the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss will remain at the helm for a second major tournament.

PAThe new deal was confirmed on Thursday morning before the 2026-27 Nations League draw.
Tuchel will now be in charge for Euro 2026, hosted by England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, with the semi-finals and final at Wembley Stadium.
His initial contract, which he signed in October 2024 before taking charge in January 2025, expires at the end of the World Cup in North America.
The Three Lions were drawn into group L alongside Croatia, Panama and Ghana.
