Lady Gaga has thanked Bad Bunny for including her in ‘this powerful, important, and meaningful performance’ after the Super Bowl

The singer, 39, appeared in the middle of the highly anticipated halftime show when the rapper, 31, brought her out as his surprise guest.

The Abracadabra singer, 39, performed her smash hit Die With A Smile with a salsa twist.

The pair’s performance was seen by over 135 million views, making it the most-watched halftime show of all time.

A crowd of background dancers dispersed to reveal the superstar standing in front of a band and wearing a baby blue dress with a red hibiscus flower as an homage to Bad Bunny’s native Puerto Rico.

Gaga, who previously headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2017, took to Instagram after the performance to share a heartfelt message to Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Ocasio.

She wrote: ‘Thank you Benito for including me in this powerful, important, and meaningful performance. I am so humbled to be a part of this moment.

‘It’s all the more special because it was with you and your beautiful heart and music. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ All my love to Benito, Ricky and the whole cast.

‘Thank you to @chloeandchenelle and @laur for my beautiful styling and fashion ❤️ All of your talent and love made that beautiful dress come to life.’

Gaga shared photos of the pair backstage and one posing with Ricky Martin who also made an appearance during the show.

They performed at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where the Seattle Seahawks trounced the New England Patriots by 29–13, marking just the second Super Bowl win for the Seahawks.

Bad Bunny’s mostly Spanish set began with Tití Me Preguntó, which he sang while walking through a sugar cane field that had been constructed on the field.

The Puerto Rican star strolled through the sugar cane as people mimed harvesting it.

He was dressed in a short white shirt and white trousers with drawstrings, and he carried a football in his white-gloved hands.

He followed the song up with Yo Perreo Sola, Safaera, Party, Voy a Llevarte Pa’ PR, EoO and Monaco.

As he exited the maze of sugar cane, he stopped to sing next to fruit vendors, a table of old men playing games and a beautician styling another woman’s nails.

Bad Bunny then emerged on the roof of a building while celebrities danced under its awning.

In addition to Pedro Pascal, the crowd was populated by stars including Cardi B and Jessica Alba.

Bad Bunny closed out his set with El Apagón, CAFé CON RON and his latest LP’s title track, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.

He passed off the flag of Puerto Rico and shouted ‘God bless America!’ before reciting the names of Latin American countries that many immigrants in the US hail from, adding the US and Canada and his ‘motherland,’ Puerto Rico, at the end.

Behind him, an electronic billboard reading ‘The only thing more powerful than hate is love’ shone out above the field.

Then Bad Bunny slammed the football he was carrying to the ground as fireworks went off on the perimeter of the stadium and red, white and blue smoke filled the air in distinct columns.

Donald Trump called the halftime show ‘one of the worst ever’ and a ‘slap in the face’ to America.

The US President said the rapper’s gig was ‘absolutely terrible’ and that there was ‘nothing inspirational’ about choosing a star who didn’t perform in English.

Mr Trump was also deeply unhappy about some of the suggestive dancing because the Puerto Rican artist repeatedly grabbed his crotch and there were women twerking on stage.

‘Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World’, he said in is excoriating review on Truth Social.

‘It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence’.

While the rapper’s fans called it a love letter to Latin and Hispanic culture, the performance angered Mr. Trump who called it ‘an affront to the Greatness of America’.

He wrote: ‘This “Show” is just a “slap in the face” to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!

‘There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD’.

Trump’s MAGA base also voted with their fingers by turning off NBC at halftime and instead firing up YouTube to watch Turning Point USA’s ‘All-American’ show instead.

Mr Trump also suggested last week he was staying away because of the choice of musicians.

‘I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible’, he said when asked about Bad Bunny and Green Day.

Over 5 million fans were on the Turning Point USA’s live stream at its peak to watch Kid Rock and Co provide an alternative halftime entertainment.
